The Torch Relay in Fukuoka will start in the city of Omuta, and will make its way to the city of Fukuoka where a celebration will take place at the end of the first day. On the second day, the Torch Relay will leave from the town of Chikujo, arriving in the city of Kitakyushu for a celebration.

The highlights of the Torch Relay in Fukuoka will include: the area around Chikuzen-iwaya Station in the village of Toho where recovery efforts have been made after the damages induced by the 2017 torrential rain in Northern Kyushu; Kyushu Geibunkan, an art and cultural centre in the city of Chikugo that introduces local attractions through hands-on activities and interaction; and Fukutsu City’s world heritage site of the Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Associated Sites in the Munakata Region, featuring the Shimbaru-Nuyama Mounded Tomb Group.
