Tokyo Skytree Illuminated to Celebrate ‘1 Year to Go!’ Before Tokyo 2020 Games

The Tokyo Skytree will display special lighting and laser mapping to mark the start of the last year before the opening of the Games.

The lighting will feature the Olympic colours – blue, yellow, black (represented by deep purple), green and red – to mark the start of the last year before the Tokyo 2020 Games, and will begin on Saturday 13 July. (Ends Friday 9 August.)
The Tembo Deck (350 metres) features a laser-mapped countdown timer displaying the number of days until the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Period: Saturday 13 July to Friday 9 August 2019 (1 Year to Go! campaign period)

On 18–
19 and 21–23 July, the colours will be displayed from 22:00 to 24:00. Different lighting will be featured on 20 July. The colours will be displayed from 20:30 to 24:00 when the Sumida River Fireworks Festival is held on 27 July (28 July if postponed).
(The Sky tree is scheduled to feature Paralympic colours from Monday 12 August to Thursday 12 September.)
