The Olympic and Paralympic Games have set the
following dates as a special period celebrating the
one-year countdown toward
the Games here in Tokyo: “1 Year to Go!”
From 13 July (Sat.) to 9 August (Fri.) for the Olympic
Games, and from 12 August (Mon.) to 12 September
(Thu.) for the Paralympic Games, there will be many
events and programmes for everyone to enjoy.

Tokyo 2020 unveiled a special video entitled "Experience the Unbelievable" featuring members of Japan’s Football 5-a-side team and Spain’s FIFA World Cup winner Andrés Iniesta playing soccer blindfolded. Iniesta says in the video after the game, “It was an amazing experience for me because I could spend time with these guys and see the great work they’re doing. It was really complicated to do. It’s very difficult.” Check out the video!

Miraitowa and Someity are featured on digital signage screens in the arrival concourse at Narita Airport, the gateway to Japan. The screens show animated movies of Miraitowa trying out Tokyo 2020 Olympic sports and Someity trying out Tokyo 2020 Paralympic sports. The Tokyo 2020 Games mascots will greet the people arriving at Narita Airport and will share the anticipation and excitement for the Olympic and Paralympic Games one year down the road.

Haneda Airport, gateway to Japan, is being colourfully decorated to mark the start of the last year before the Tokyo 2020 Games! The decorations, with core graphics inspired by traditional kasane no irome colour layerings, feature colours chosen to represent the Games such as “ai” (indigo) and “kurenai” (dark red), and will help everyone visiting Tokyo to feel the eager anticipation with which the Games are awaited by everyone in Japan.

To celebrate the start of the last year before the Tokyo 2020 Games, the Tokyo Skytree will display the Olympic colours from 13 July (Sat) to 9 August (Fri), and the Paralympic colours from 12 August (Mon) to 12 (thu) September. A laser mapping display will be projected on the Tembo Deck. (The Skytree will feature different special lighting programmes on some days.)
