“Hello everyone. I’m Aki Taguchi, Official Ambassador of the Tokyo 2020 Torch Relay. I didn’t expect to be selected, and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fulfil such an important role. At the same time, I was interested in contributing so I decided to accept the offer. While athletes compete in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, anyone can take part in the Torch Relay. Regardless of gender and whether you have an impairment or not, you can participate as a torchbearer or you can cheer on from the streets along the route of the Torch Relay. You can also enjoy the Torch Relay at home on TV. I hope we can all create a Torch Relay that is remembered by everyone that takes part in whatever form. The official ambassadors will do our best to contribute, so come on and join us!”
