Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Sustainable Sourcing Code

This sourcing code was formulated to ensure the sustainability and economic rationality of all products, services, etc. procured by the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee) during the preparation and operating phases of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It also clarifies the criteria and operating methods by which such products, services, etc. shall be procured. In addition, the sourcing code also defines the individual criteria for the sourcing of timber, agricultural products, livestock products, fishery products, paper and palm oil.

Through conducting procurements in accordance with this sourcing code, the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee will contribute to integrating sustainability into the preparations and operations of the Tokyo 2020 Games. Additionally, to realise a society that practices sustainable consumption and production in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), we will work towards expanding initiatives similar to this sourcing code, and achieving widespread public recognition of the importance of sustainability.
