Thousands of athletes, amazing performances, a record number of medal events, sports never-seen-before at the Games, iconic venues and a lifetime memories await. Apply now for your Tokyo 2020 ticket and be a part of it.
The lottery for the initial offering of Olympic Games tickets for sale to residents of Japan runs until 23:59 (JST) on 28 May. Do not miss out, this is the best opportunity to purchase tickets for the events you want to see at the Games.
Pre-registration via the TOKYO 2020 ID portal is required to enter the lottery. The results of the lottery will be announced on 20 June.
Millions of tickets will be available at affordable prices, with the cheapest general tickets priced at JPY 2,500 and half of all tickets priced at JPY 8,000 or less. A symbolic ticket price of JPY 2,020 for families and groups resident in Japan whose members include children, senior citizens or individuals with impairments.
The Official Ticket Website contains the latest information on the event line-up for each session of the Games, details of the different categories of tickets and seat maps, as well as ticket sales guidelines.
Should they not be successful in the lottery, residents of Japan will still be able to purchase tickets during the first-come, first-served phase, which will commence in autumn 2019. A final phase of ticket sales will start in the spring of 2020, offering first-come, first-served sales on a global basis. Details will be announced later.
Paralympic ticket sales will commence in summer 2019.

You will soon be able to purchase tickets through Authorised Ticket Resellers (ATRs). ATRs are official sales channels outside of Japan appointed by the National Olympic Committees of the individual countries and regions and approved by Tokyo 2020, and have the exclusive right to sell Games tickets in agreed countries and regions.
ATRs can commence ticket sales from 15 June 2019. The sales launch date in each territory may vary. To learn more about the ticket sales schedule in their own country or region, overseas residents can visit their respective ATR's website; details of these can be found at
While overseas residents cannot purchase tickets via the Tokyo 2020 Official Ticket Website at this stage, this option will be available to them from the spring of 2020. Tickets may only be purchased via authorised channels, and Tokyo 2020 urges all prospective ticket purchasers to be aware of unauthorised or potentially fraudulent ticket offerings.
