"Spectrum Monitoring Plan For the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020" is released

To ensure no interference and no jamming of the radio spectrum and a stable and secure radio frequency environment at the Tokyo 2020 Games, the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) today (20 September 2018) released the “Spectrum Monitoring Plan For the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020”, which outlines Tokyo 2020's plans to monitor the radio spectrum at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

With a view to protecting Games-related personnel from radio interference and jamming, the plan details Japan's radio spectrum monitoring systems, and laws and regulations regarding the import of related devices and equipment. The plan also outlines how Tokyo 2020 plans to ensure an interference-free, jamming-free stable and secure radio spectrum during the Games.

To enable Games-related personnel to conduct radio operations smoothly and without interference and jamming, Tokyo 2020 will be working closely with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications – the ministry responsible for Japan's radio spectrum – on a range of radio spectrum monitoring initiatives to ensure the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games.
