The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) today announced an outline of proposed ticket prices for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with tickets for all sports offered at affordable prices. Seats at each sports event will cost no more than JPY 7,000, as part of the Organising Committee's commitment to enhance the family atmosphere at the Paralympic Games and attract as many youngsters as possible.
Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will cost from JPY 8,000 up to JPY 150,000. Seats at sports events will be priced from just JPY 900 up to JPY 7,000. A special range of lower-priced tickets is being considered for families and groups whose members include children, senior citizens or individuals with impairments. Similar tickets are also being considered as part of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 ticketing programme targeting one million students across Japan. In addition, concessionary tickets for areas dedicated to wheelchair users will be made available, and Tokyo 2020 is also planning to offer a hospitality programme.
- Tickets for athletics in the new Olympic Stadium – a sport that Japan won 16 medals in at last year's World Championships, including two golds – will range from JPY 2,000 to JPY 6,500.
- At Rio 2016 Japan's Paralympic swimmers won seven medals and tickets for the sport at Tokyo 2020 will cost between JPY 2,000 and JPY 7,000.
- Japan currently boasts the men's world number one and women's world number two in wheelchair tennis. Tickets for the sport will cost between JPY 1,800 and JPY 6,500.
- Interest and popularity in boccia has increased rapidly since Japan's success at Rio 2016 and tickets prices for the sport will range from JPY 1,200 to JPY 3,200.

The number of residents of Japan who have registered at Tokyo 2020's online platform https://id.tokyo2020.jp/ has already reached 500,000 following the launch of the ticket campaign on 20 July 2018. Residents who have yet to sign up are urged to do so in order to receive the latest information about the Tokyo 2020 Games, including ticketing, events and general sporting information The English language registration website will be open after spring 2019.
Additional details of the ticket ordering and purchasing process for residents of Japan will be announced on the Tokyo 2020 website in due course. Applications for tickets will be accepted from the summer of 2019. Full details of ticket prices for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be announced next spring or later.
Tickets may only be purchased via authorised channels, and Tokyo 2020 urges all prospective ticket purchasers to be aware and cautious of unauthorised or potentially fraudulent ticket offerings. Tickets for Paralympic Games events will go on sale from next summer; no tickets will be available before then.
