The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is pleased to announce that the Basic Strategy for Food and Beverage Services (Food Strategy) was released on 28 March 2018.
A Food Strategy Advisory Group comprising Olympians, Paralympians, industry experts and members of relative administrative bodies was established to discuss various aspects regarding the formulation of the strategy. The advisory group, which was chaired by Hiroko Okubo of the Washoku Association of Japan, was convened on six separate occasions and the Food Strategy was finalised after coordination with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The strategy includes the basic approach to the provision of food and beverage services at the Tokyo 2020 Games, the recipients of the services, items for special consideration, the tasks of each related party and many other subjects.
Based on the Food Strategy, a wide range of related studies and considerations will be made in the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Games.
