The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games held the fourth meeting of its Mascot Selection Panel on Wednesday, 19 July.
During this meeting, the panel discussed the composition of judges for the design check during the initial phase of the selection process, the conducting of a live relay of the selection panel at work, and the future schedule of the selection process.
Following the meeting, panel member Shoko Nakagawa urged people across Japan to submit an application, “Anybody can submit an entry for the Tokyo 2020 Games Mascots competition. I really hope that the people of Japan will come up with Games Mascots that will be loved by people around the world. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries.” She also urged people to get involved in the discussions taking place on social media by using #2020mascots
This fourth meeting was the final meeting before the launching of the period for accepting applications. The next meeting of the members of the Mascot Selection Panel will be held in late September.
