With Tokyo 2020 now just one year away, it’s time to relive some of the greatest Olympic moments in history. Today 26 July 2020, the Rio 2016 men's weightlifting 62kg.

The schedule for Tokyo 2020 has been confirmed, venues announced and while athletes around the world are busy gearing up to qualify for the greatest show on Earth, it's time to enjoy 16 days full of the most unforgettable, inspiring and exciting memories from the past as preparations for Tokyo 2020 gather pace!

Rio 2016 men's weightlifting 62kg

Óscar Figueroa had already won a silver medal at London 2012 when he took to the stage in Rio. His performance four years earlier had seen him break the Olympic record in the clean & jerk portion of the competition, so he arrived in Brazil as one of the hot favourites for the title.

But victory in Rio was not something that could be taken for granted. Earlier in 2016, Figueroa had undergone surgery for chronic back pain caused by a lumber hernia. Would the veteran lifter be able to come out victorious when faced with the intense pressure of a second Olympic Games?
