Rio 2016 men's weightlifting 62kg
Óscar Figueroa had already won a silver medal at London 2012 when he took to the stage in Rio. His performance four years earlier had seen him break the Olympic record in the clean & jerk portion of the competition, so he arrived in Brazil as one of the hot favourites for the title.
But victory in Rio was not something that could be taken for granted. Earlier in 2016, Figueroa had undergone surgery for chronic back pain caused by a lumber hernia. Would the veteran lifter be able to come out victorious when faced with the intense pressure of a second Olympic Games?
Oscar Figueroa wins the Gold for Colombia, Eko Irawan the Silver for Indonesia, and Farkhad Kharki the Bronze in the men's 62kg weightlifting competition at the Rio Summer Olympic Games in 2016
