Chinese table tennis player ZHANG Yining is without a doubt one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport. Athens 2004 saw her compete in her first Olympic final and she put in a spellbinding display, particularly in the final two sets where her opponent, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi, only managed to score two points in each.

Zhang won her second Olympic title at Beijing 2008, succeeding her compatriot DENG Yaping who won gold at Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996.
