All-Women's Run through the Heart of Tokyo Attracts 4,000 Runners

Japan's unmatched passion for sport was on full display today as more than 4,000 runners turned up for the annual 10 km Shibuya Omotesando Women's Run. The event included both a 10 km run through Tokyo's fashionable Shibuya and Omotesando districts, and a 1 km family run to encourage wide participation and emphasise that sport is a rewarding pastime for all ages. Hiromi Miyake, London 2012 Olympic silver medallist in Weightlifting, competed in the race and awarded prizes to the children who participated in the event.
