What is a Live Site?
During the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Live Sites will provide non-ticket holders the chance to share in the emotion of the Games by watching the competitions shown on large screens erected at non-competition venues. Live sites will also host hands-on sport experience, cultural events, commercial displays of Marketing Partners, and a variety of other fun-packed programmes. Public viewing involves watching the sport competitions.
Tokyo 2020 Live Sites
Tokyo 2020 Live Sites are jointly hosted by the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and/or the municipalities involved* with the hosting of the Games. Many spectators from across the nation and around the world will have an opportunity to enjoy the Games together with the local community.
“Municipalities involved” refer to the regional municipalities hosting a Tokyo 2020 Games competition.
Community Live Sites
Community Live Sties are hosted by the regional municipalities to offer the local citizens – from children to the elderly – a location where they can enjoy the excitement of the Games together.
Hosted by the regional municipalities, educational institutions, or community associations, sport communication, a huge screen will be set up to offer people a place to watch the competitions.
