The "Tokyo 2020 NIPPON Festival" is the official cultural programme of the Tokyo 2020 Games that will take place around late March to September 2020. The programme will boost excitement and anticipation toward the Games while promoting Japan’s unique culture widely across Japan and worldwide. It will encourage people from different backgrounds to participate and develop friendships that will lead to a diverse and inclusive society.

The Tokyo 2020 NIPPON Festival aims to encourage people from various backgrounds to participate in common projects and communicate with each other in order to promote the concept of an inclusive society. It also aims to give people an opportunity to become involved in the Olympic and Paralympic movements, creating a sense of anticipation in advance of the Games by means of its cultural and artistic events.
